Keith Urban Enters a New Flow State — Thirteenth Studio Album Arrives June 12 Feat. John Mayer, Michael McDonald and Little Big Town

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ASPEN, CO — JUNE 11, 2026 — Global superstar Keith Urban today releases Flow State, his highly anticipated thirteenth studio album, a project that finds one of contemporary music’s most adventurous artists charting a new creative course. Recorded at Urban’s Nashville studio, The Sound, and co-produced with longtime collaborator Dann Huff, Flow State reimagines the smooth, melodic spirit of classic yacht rock through Urban’s distinctive musicianship, emotional storytelling, and world-class guitar work. The album features collaborations with Michael McDonald, Little Big Town, and acclaimed guitarist and songwriter John Mayer.

Originally conceived as a casual recording session to inaugurate Urban’s newly restored studio, the project evolved organically into a full-length collection inspired by the warmth, optimism, and craftsmanship of late-1970s and early-1980s soft rock. What began as a few performances among friends soon became one of the most unexpected and compelling releases of Urban’s career.

Among the album’s most anticipated moments is “Guitar Man,” a new interpretation of the Bread classic featuring John Mayer. Long admired as two of modern music’s most expressive guitarists, Urban and Mayer reunite for a performance that showcases their remarkable musical chemistry, intertwining melodic guitar lines with a deep appreciation for songcraft and tone. The collaboration marks a significant highlight of the album and serves as a meeting point between two generations of guitar-driven popular music.

The album’s sole original composition, “We Go Back,” features music icon Michael McDonald, while Little Big Town joins Urban on a reimagining of Walter Egan’s “Magnet and Steel.” Together, the collaborations underscore the album’s central theme: music as a shared experience capable of transcending genre boundaries and generations.

Across eleven tracks, Flow State revisits beloved classics including “Steal Away,” “Baby Come Back,” “Just the Two of Us,” “Summer Breeze,” and “How Much I Feel,” while maintaining Urban’s signature balance of technical precision and emotional accessibility. The album serves as both homage and reinvention, honoring the originals while introducing them to a new generation of listeners.

At a moment when audiences increasingly seek music that offers comfort, connection, and craftsmanship, Flow State arrives as an invitation to slow down and rediscover the simple pleasure of a great song. Urban has described the project as an antidote to contemporary stress and division—a collection built around melody, groove, and the communal joy of listening.
