FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ASPEN, CO. — July 11, 2026 — The Rolling Stones have released Foreign Tongues, the band’s 25th studio album and the follow-up to the Grammy Award-winning Hackney Diamonds. Produced by Andrew Watt, the record arrives as the latest chapter in a career that has now spanned more than six decades, demonstrating the group’s continued commitment to recording new material while many of its contemporaries focus primarily on legacy tours and archival releases.
Featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood, Foreign Tongues builds on the creative momentum established by Hackney Diamonds, blending the blues, rock and roll, and rhythm and blues influences that have long defined the band’s sound with a modern production approach. The album also features contributions from Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith, Chad Smith, and recordings by the late Charlie Watts, whose performances remain an important part of the project.
Lead single “In the Stars” introduced the album ahead of its release, offering an early look at a collection that balances driving rock arrangements with more reflective songwriting. Across its fourteen tracks, Foreign Tongues finds the Stones continuing to explore familiar musical territory without relying solely on nostalgia, instead presenting a record that reflects both their history and their willingness to keep moving forward.
The release follows a renewed period of activity for the band after Hackney Diamonds became its first album of original material in nearly two decades. That record was met with widespread critical acclaim and commercial success, helping reestablish the Stones as an active recording group rather than simply a touring act.
While Foreign Tongues acknowledges the band’s extraordinary legacy, it also reinforces a defining characteristic of The Rolling Stones throughout their career: a determination to continue creating new work. More than sixty years after their formation, Jagger, Richards, and Wood remain among the few artists of their generation still producing ambitious studio albums that stand alongside one of rock music’s most influential catalogs.
Foreign Tongues is available now on streaming platforms, CD, vinyl, and digital formats worldwide.
